2025 Goal-Based Grazing School with Principle Land Managers
Here are a few reasons we believe the grazing school is well worth the registration cost and what sets it apart from other schools.
This school is hands on, with actual cattle and rangeland.
Not just estimating the grass, but calculating how much grass you have, accounting for diversity, and how much grass you want to leave behind. You will learn to use tools to calculate production, then also train your eye. You’ll learn how to know evaluate how much grass to leave.
Economics: incorporating the dollar value of taking too much or leaving too much forage behind and what that does to your bottom line.
The principles of this course are tried and true on the ground, in the animal, and the manager.
The instructors use science and research and have over 70 years of experience between them.
There are opportunities for continued help from the instructors to use what they teach. You’re not left on your own after the class.
Each group has their own set of cattle and an objective aim for.
Twenty-five hours of content over 3 days.

Living in a Fire Age: The Pyrocene
Living in a Fire Age: The Pyrocene with Stephen J. Pyne
hosted by
The Institute for Science & Policy at the
Denver Museum of Nature and Science
2001 Colorado Blvd., Denver, CO 80205
March 3, 2025
5:30 - 7:30 P.M. MST
Lecture begins at 6:15 P.M. MST
In an age where megafires dominate the headlines, to understand how humans live with fire today requires us to understand our journey to this pivotal moment in time. Join us for a lecture with fire historian Stephen J. Pyne, an emeritus professor at Arizona State University and author of over 30 books, to explore the complex relationship between humans and fire.
In his talk, Pyne will discuss how the earth is a unique fire planet with a history that can be chronicled by three fires – nature’s fire, the fires tamed by humans, and the combustion of fossil fuels, which combined make up the Pyrocene. Learn how we have remade the earth through fire and what it means to go beyond living with fire to living within a fire age.
Held at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science and live-streamed on our YouTube channel, RSVP today for this free lecture including a reception with drinks and light hors d'oeuvres.
