Policy instruments and incentives for conservation on working landscapes

by Jeremy Pittman

In one part of the survey administered, most participants ranked three factors in the following order of importance: restrictions on farming, trust in the regulating organization, and funding available from the given program. Furthermore, most participants ranked instruments of conservation in this order: conservation management agreements (CMAs), market certification, conservation easements, and land securements.

Pittman’s presentation also includes perspective quotes from survey participants on the various impacts of conservation programs. Both the qualitative and quantitative data included proves relevant for any conservation efforts.
